Spring has sprung

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

While I’m so very happy to feel spring on the horizon, I have to say my eyes and nose aren’t as happy!! Are you experiencing an uncontrolable itching sensation that’s screaming SPRING IS HERE?? Yeah, me too. My nose has a mind of it’s own!! hahahaha….speaking of spring, new music is popping up from old and new artist’s alike and you’re going to want to add them to your music collection! Keith Urban delivers his new album today called “Defying Gravity” and you can bet this chick will be adding him to my new music stack. Keith is one of the best live acts I’ve seen in a long time and his blend of country/pop always puts me in a good mood. Also look for Erin McCarley, her album “Love, Save The Empty” is just brilliant and I look for her to be a big thing this year. Of course I gotta give props to Chicago band “Josh and the Empty Pockets” too…look for them on the road all summer, and if you get a chance, check them out, they’re GREAT!! Happy Music Hunting :) Trisha

Brackets, Schmackets…

Friday, March 27th, 2009

Ok, so I’m not one to really get excited about the March Madness thing and admit to really not getting the whole game of basketball; but I will say that I do enjoy watching the games here and there and happened to see the last 45 seconds of the Xavier/Pitt game last night and can understand what all the hype is about! I caught two amazing Pitt plays that sealed the game for them and felt a little “mad fever” myself. WOW!!! I may not be a basketball fan, but I can certainly appreciate the excitement for those of you who follow your teams to the bitter end! Rejoice in your March Madness celebrating, for this is the fruit of your diligent following!!

Weekend Fun!

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Hi! What a weekend!! Gotta say, I had the best time Saturday evening bowling with my pals; the fact that I totally stink and they still love me gives me hope that they’ll invite me to the alley again! Got any bowling tips to help improve my game for next time? I sure need them!! Oh, and WHY after all these years are bowling shoes still ugly?? Just sayin’…Have a great Monday and listen all week to win concert tickets to the hottest shows coming to C-bus!!  -Trisha-

Random Thought…

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

Every once in a while an advertising campaign comes along that catches my attention; and right now I’m LOVING the Old Navy mannequin commercials. Brilliantly funny and cheesy! Hope you’re enjoying your weekend so far! If you’re celebrating the Irish this evening, have fun, be careful and HAVE A D.D.!!! Cheers -Trisha-

Happy Weekend!!

Friday, March 13th, 2009

Here’s hoping you have big plans to celebrate the Luck O’ the Irish this weekend! Me, well, I plan on doing a little celebrating, but will probably be more low key than in years past. I don’t need to remind you that money is tight these days, so prioritizing has become my new best friend. Giving up frivolous spending has been on the forefront for me and it’s not been hard deciding what to give up and what to keep. Going out less is ok with me as long as I can keep the two things I enjoy doing for myself…having my hair and nails done regularly!!  After two months of putting off coloring my hair and trying to save some dough, I FINALLY made it to the salon yesterday…THANK YOU TRACEY!! I’m amazed at how just the simple pleasure of having your hair cut and colored can change your whole attitude in a day; and to say I feel more confident and put together (even when sporting a simple sweatshirt and jeans) is an understatement! We’re all feeling the change in cash flow these days, but it’s important to remember that while keeping ourselves on a budget as best we can, it’s also important to remember that sometimes the little things we do for ourselves, whatever they may be, are the best medicine for getting through hard times with a smile and cheerier disposition! Here’s to loving yourself! Cheers -Trisha-

The Pub at Polaris

Friday, March 13th, 2009

If you’re like me, you’re always looking for a fun new place to try in Columbus and right now my new fave place to dine and cocktail is The Pub at Polaris Fashion Place. Tucked in the new Lifestyle section, it’s definately going to be a frequent hang out for me as the weather continues to get warmer. Not only is the decor absolutely British fantastic, but they have a yummy menu,  great patio and an even greater wait staff!! Eye Candy is an understatement!! There’s something about seeing a man in a kilt that makes this girl smile…and guys, the girls in kilts aren’t bad on the eyes either! hahaha…but seriously, if you’re looking for a neat place to dine and you’re a lover of beer, then take a chance on The Pub at Polaris, the beer menu (yes, menu) is fantastic; my favorite right now is the Kentucky Bourbon Ale and the Curry and Chips are a tasty way to start…give it a try and let me know what you think, would love to hear about your experience AND about your favorite haunts in C-bus. Have a great Wednesday! -Trisha-

All I Ever Wanted…

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

is a great closet and a man who will fill it for me! hahahaha, I’m kidding! (sort of).  Actually, “All I Ever Wanted” is the name of Kelly Clarkson’s new album, and it makes its debut on store shelves today. Besides Daughtry, Kelly is by far my favorite “Idol”; maybe it’s because through her career she’s actually had the nerve to break the mold and try new sounds. I think I’m the only person who actually liked and bought her last album “My December” and was impressed with the different sound. In todays music business where basically everything is cookie cutter, sound the same, it was refreshing to hear her try something new. Unfortunately, Clive Davis and her record label didn’t agree, so it’s going to be interesting to hear the sound they’ve come up with on this album.  Hopefully for Kelly’s sake, it will be a nice mix of her Texas spunk and the pop sounds we’re all listening to right now! I like her new song “My Life Would Suck Without You” and look forward to sampling the rest of her new sound. Let me know what YOU think and don’t miss Kelly at the Ohio State Fair, July 29th!! Tickets are on sale March 28th; in a recent interview with Mtv she said this album will be one of the funnest for her to sing live…we shall see. Have a great Tuesday and thanks for letting me give props to Ms. Clarkson!! -Trisha-

Spring Forward

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

Hey There! Hope you’re enjoying yourself as much as I am this weekend; it’s nice when the first warm day of the year comes around! For me it gives promise that we’re just about through with winter and headed toward spring in Columbus. It’s always exciting when the first buds of color start to show, and I feel certain that we’ll be seeing a change in scenery before we know it.  Going through my closet this morning was so much fun; pulling out clothes I haven’t worn for months (or since my Florida vacation a couple of weeks ago  haha) and deciding what to wear for the day. (plus, realizing I’m in need of a pedicure!!!) I’m all about spending time with my friends on the patio today, whipping up some great grilling grub and enjoying the warm weather. I suppose I’ll try and be responsible and get a little cleaning in this weekend too, although, I feel certain I’ll be putting that off til tomorrow :) If losing an hour of shut eye means we’re one step closer to more sunshine, BRING IT ON!! Don’t forget to spring the clock forward an hour before you go to bed tonight!! Happy Saturday! -Trisha_

Yay for Sun!

Friday, March 6th, 2009

So Mother Nature has FINALLY given us the gift of sun and warm temperatures on the weekend we “spring forward” an hour and head toward FINALLY saying good-bye to winter. As I sit in the studio and smell the grill heating up for an impromtu company cook-out this afternon, I can’t help but think this is going to be a great weekend to open up the windows and patio doors and breathe in the fresh air; not to mention get some early spring cleaning done!! I know that’s going to be a project for me this weekend, as I’ve been really good at overlooking things that have needed taken care of for quite some time. Whatever your plans for the weekend, make sure you soak up the sun!! Happy Friday! -Trisha-

Sick…again

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

I can’t believe I’m sitting here telling you that I’m again feeling yucky, but I am. I haven’t been this sick in YEARS!! It seems that when one of us at the radio station finally start to turn the corner toward feeling like ourself again, someone else gets the yuck and it’s back full circle! Just when you think you’re on the road to recovery, you’re sick again!! I think this is my 4th cold this season!! I’ve gotta say I’m ready to be rid of the yuck AND of winter forever!! :) Spring needs to sprung ALREADY! hahaha  Here’s to your good health!! Trisha
